West Brom could be set for 'huge blow' after Mowatt latest - Campbell

Kevin Campbell has claimed it will be a “huge blow” to West Brom if Alex Mowatt is out for an extended period of time.

However, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Albion and Arsenal striker suggested Valerien Ismael’s side could cope with the 26-year-old’s loss as they have “one of the best squads in the Championship”.

Mowatt was forced off in the second half of Friday night’s 1-0 loss at Stoke City after he injured his left foot.

As quoted by the Express and Star (October 4th), Ismael fears the problem could be serious as Mowatt is a player who likes to play all of the time.

The centre-midfielder has been a revelation since arriving to The Hawthorns from Barnsley in July.

He has contributed three goals and one assist in his 11 Champions appearances.

When asked by Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs for his assessment of the injury, Campbell said:

“It will be a huge blow because he has added goals to that midfield this season. He is a very good player.

“Every team has to deal with injuries though. It is how you cope with them. West Brom have a big squad and now is where it counts.

“Injuries and suspensions will happen throughout the season so someone has got to come in and do a job.

“West Brom’s squad is one of the best in the Championship. They will cope, even though Mowatt has been one of their best players this season.”

In other news, Campbell ‘loves’ what he has just heard from West Brom manager Ismael.
