West Brom could land £30m war chest after Ismael's double reveal - Robinson
West Brom could generate £30million from selling Sam Johnstone and Matheus Pereira and use the money to fund a wave of summer signings.
That is according to ex-England goalkeeper Paul Robinson, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the duo’s future at the Hawthorns.
Quoted by Birmingham Live on 5th July, new Albion boss Valerien Ismael admitted: “It is my expectation that they will leave.”
Goalkeeper Johnstone has a year remaining on his deal while attacking midfielder Pereira’s contract runs until 2024.
Robinson claimed that the Baggies would do well to offload the pair and fund a recruitment drive as they prepare for life in the Championship.
“You’d like to think he [Ismael] would be given the money to reinvest,” he told Football Insider correspondent Dylan Childs.

“I think Ismael was a really shrewd appointment by West Brom. You need a manager who knows the Championship and a Championship squad to get you out of the division.
“Sam Johnstone was always going to be one who was going to leave after having an excellent season last time out. Pereira is the same.
“If they can cash in on two top-quality players and reinvest that into the squad, I’m sure they will.
“West Brom have never gone and spent heavily but if you get decent money for those two players you can invest in players who know the Championship.
“You’d be disappointed if you got less than £30m for the pair of them.“
Johnstone, 28, started all but one of Albion’s 38 league matches last season.
Pereira, 25, meanwhile notched 11 goals and six assists in 33 top-flight appearances in 2020-21.
