West Brom tipped to sell Johnstone to Tottenham in January after source reveal - pundit
Sam Johnstone can be the Tottenham number one for many years to come, according to Gabby Agbonlahor.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, Johnstone’s ex-Aston Villa teammate tipped West Brom to cash in on the goalkeeper in the January transfer window.
A recruitment source told Football Insider on September 27 that Tottenham have set their sights on singing the goalkeeper.
It is understood they sent their scouts to watch Johnstone in West Brom’s 1-1 draw with his former side Preston North End last month.
West Brom wanted £15million for the England international over the summer as West Ham failed in their bid to sign him.
He has just a year left to run on his Albion contract and Spurs are compiling a dossier with a view to a transfer.

Their current number one Hugo Lloris is also out of contract next summer.
Football Insider revealed on May 17 Lloris will see out his current deal before deciding on his next move.
Asked whether West Brom could even cash in during the January transfer window, Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “I think so.
“They need to make some money out of him instead of losing him on a free.
“He’s a quality keeper. He can be number one for Spurs for many years.
“I hope that he gets that move because he deserves to be playing in the Premier League.”
Tottenham brought in Atalanta goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini on loan, with an option to buy, over the summer.
He has played five times in cup competitions for Spurs but is yet to feature in the Premier League.
