West Ham in chase to sign £65,000-a-wk world beater available for bargain price - Times

West Ham are on red alert after Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain made up his mind to quit Arsenal in the summer, according to a report.
The Times claim the Arsenal midfielder wants to leave Arsenal at the end of the season because he is stagnating and wants his career to be revitalised by a transfer.
It is said that Oxlade-Chamberlain, 23, intends to reject any offers from the Premier League giants to extend or improve a contract that expires in the summer of 2018.
He wants exposure to different training methods and tactics, as well as a move to a side who can develop him in a set position rather than the different roles he has been handed by Arsene Wenger.
The Times report that the £65,000-a-week player, who joined Arsenal from Southampton for a fee of £15million in the summer of 2011, is on a long list of potential targets for Liverpool and Manchester City.

West Ham and his former club Southampton are also interested in signing the 24-times England international.
Oxlade-Chamberlain is also likely to be an attractive target for a number of other clubs given his form in recent months and potential for improvement.
Given that he will have just a year remaining on his contract, the versatile midfielder will be available at a bargain price compared to if he was tied down long term.
Football Insider verdict:
Now is the time for West Ham to be ambitious. Give the Ox the big seduction. Tell him he is wonderful, make him a fabulous contract offer and guarantee him a place in central midfield. Hand him the captaincy if need be. After treading water for so long, the 23-year-old has looked the business in recent times. Ask any Arsenal fan who has been the team’s best player in 2017 and they will all give the same answer. The Ox has the potential to be a world beater. And, just like Dimitri Payet before him, the stage for his considerable talent can be West Ham.
