West Ham have joined Everton in the race to sign Hellas Verona defender Jackson Tchatchoua, sources have told Football Insider.

The Premier League duo are both in the market for a new right-back this summer and have registered their interest in the Cameroon international.

Tchatchoua, 22, has established himself as an important player at Hellas Verona since his move from Royal Charleroi SC last summer.

Verona paid £2.5million to land the right-back one year ago as he committed to a four-year contract which is set to expire in 2027.

Tchatchoua made 27 appearances for Verona last season as he turned in a number of impressive displays, helping his side to finish 13th in Serie A.

The defender has also shown off his versatility when called upon this season, having featured as a right-midfielder, right-winger and left-midfielder.

Both West Ham and Everton are looking to add depth to their defensive units after disappointing seasons last time out.

Having already landed a deal to sign Max Kilman, they have moved on to the right-back position with Tchatchoua near the top of their list.

Everton, meanwhile, want cover for Seamus Coleman and Nathan Patterson after inconsistent performances and injury issues last season.

With the Premier League outfits having expressed their interest, Hellas Verona will look to make a sizable profit on last summer's investment if he is sold.
