West Ham backed to edge out Tottenham and Aston Villa in Ings chase
Noel Whelan claims West Ham can beat Tottenham and Aston Villa to the singing of Danny Ings.
The former Leeds striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insisted a move to any of the four clubs would be hard for the striker to turn down.
On 7th July, The Athletic reported all three clubs have shown an interest in Ings as he stalls on signing a new deal at Southampton.
Ings, 28, scored 12 goals in 29 Premier League outings last season.
He has one year remaining on his current St Mary’s deal and could leave for nothing next summer.
Whelan admits every club has its merits but West Ham may have an edge as they are set to play in the Europa League next season.

“When you look at the size of Villa, Tottenham and West Ham, they are pretty similar,” Whelan told Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge.
“Tottenham, for me, are probably slightly bigger in terms of history and what they have done.
“But when you look at where they are after last season, West Ham are more appealing because they are in the Europa League.
“It would be hard to turn down a move to any of those clubs. Look at the market Villa have gone into.
“Look at Tottenham’s stadium. West Ham have Europe, they all have their benefits.
“Villa, to me, look a team who are desperate to rebuild and really challenge for the top six this season.
“Tottenham could have money to spend if Harry Kane goes but they are big shoes to fill.”
