West Ham board can secure stunning turnaround by taking advantage of rivals' £6m revelation
When the shocking scenes at West Ham’s London Stadium unfolded in their clash against Burnley, the Hammers faithful could be sure they got their point across loud and clear.
The supporters might have stayed quiet for some time, but that was their time to take aim and launch a mighty attack on the board for their running of the east London club.
While the pitch invasions and threatening scenes are worthy of condemnation, David Gold, David Sullivan and Karren Brady must realise that things must change for the better sooner rather than later, or face their club going into meltdown both on and off the pitch.
Thankfully for the West Ham board, they have been presented with the ideal opportunity to secure a stunning turnaround in their fortunes, and it will only cost them an initial £6million.
The Chronicle have claimed that Newcastle United manager Rafael Benitez has a release clause in his contract of £6million, meaning that any interested suitors need pay the Magpies the fee and they are free to take the Spaniard as their boss.

Having managed to convince David Moyes to put pen to paper on a short-term deal which expires at the end of the season, they would not have to pay the Scottish boss anything to see him leave, and could replace the former Everton man with a Champions League winning coach.
Benitez is the sort of manager which would excite the West Ham supporters and help get them back on side; in fact, he proved his galvanising effect at St James’ Park, turning the Newcastle fans from fuming against owner Mike Ashley to backing the team week in, week out.
The Hammers’ backers would certainly be willing to splash more cash than the Sports Direct supremo is on Tyneside, and if Benitez wants a project to work on with a significant transfer fund, then the London Stadium is the ideal move.
