West Ham defender Vladimir Coufal's agent has sent a come-and-get-me plea to potential suitors for his client.

That is the view of former Spurs and England number one Paul Robinson, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the 28-year-old's current contract situation.

The Hammers are currently in talks over extending Coufal's contract after his exceptional first season in English football.

However, according to Sky Sports (26th July), the right-back feels let down by the club's first offer.

The proposal is said to have been more based more on appearance and performance related add-ons rather than a significant basic wage increase.

Coufal still has two years remaining on his current deal.

When asked by Football Insider's Dylan Childs if the news was an invite for other clubs to swoop for the defender, Robinson said: "Yeah I'd say so.

"Contract negotiations are not done in the public domain. So that has probably been orchestrated from Coufal's agent.

"You only go public with contract talks when it is near the end and you know they are going to fall down. You don't do it after one offer and say you are offended unless you have ulterior motives.

"You try and get as far as you can get in talks with the club first and foremost. To come out after the first offer and say you're offended doesn't bode well. I think that is the agent at work."
