West Ham the bookies favourites to sign in-demand £12m defender after drop in odds

West Ham are clear favourites to sign in-demand Hull defender Harry Maguire this summer, according to the latest bookmakers’ odds.
Bet Victor have placed odds of 3/1 on the London-based Premier League outfit winning the race to land Maguire before the transfer window shuts on 3 September.
West Ham are ahead of Southampton (4/1), Everton (8/1), Liverpool (8/1) and Newcastle (10/1) in the running for the signature of the centre-back.
It comes following a drop in the odds of West Ham landing Maguire, with the club priced at 6/1 last week by bookies.
Maguire is being eyed by a number of leading Premier League and Championship clubs this summer amid doubts over his future at relegation-threatened Hull.

The Sun report that it could take a fee of £12million to prise the player from Hull, where he has a year remaining on his contract.
West Ham have been widely linked with a significant overhaul of their porous back line, which has shelled 57 goals in 32 league matches.
It is the 17th worst defensive record in the top flight, behind only Bournemouth (59 goals conceded), Hull (64) and Swansea (67).
Maguire has been a mainstay of the relegation strugglers this season, making 31 appearances in all competitions, including 20 Premier League starts.
His contract at Hull expires in the summer of 2018, meaning they could be forced to cash in on him this summer, even if they are successful in avoiding relegation.
