Report: West Ham to lodge defender offer, terms will be £65,000-a-week

West Ham are ready to hand Winston Reid a bumper new contract to bring him in line with defensive partner Jose Fonte, according to a report.
The Daily Mail claim that the Hammers are keen to offer Reid improved terms during the summer that will elevate him in the club’s wage structure.
It is said that Reid is currently on £30,000-a-week and the London club are set to renew his deal at around £65,000-a-week.
The Daily Mail report that West Ham are looking to tie down a number of key players in the summer, with star man Michail Antonio also in line for a new contract.
Reid, 28, has four years remaining on the six-year deal he signed in 2015 but the new agreement would reflect his importance at the London Stadium.

The New Zealand international has made 31 appearances in all competitions this season and started 25 of the team’s 28 league matches.
He has been paired in the centre of defence with Jose Fonte since the January window as an injury ruled Angelo Ogbonna out for the remainder of the season.
Reid has now racked up 198 appearances for West Ham and has been key to the team’s revival following a wretched start to the campaign.
