Pundit suggests West Ham could re-sign Lingard on loan after what 'I've heard'

Jesse Lingard could re-sign for West Ham on another loan deal if he chooses them over rival suitors Tottenham.

That is according to ex-top-flight shot-stopper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively after Football Insider revealed on 12th July that West Ham fear that Spurs may gazump them in the race for the 28-year-old's signature.

Lingard is under contract until next summer after United triggered a one-year extension in his deal last December.

And the Daily Star reported on 26th June that Man United are ready to offer the attacking-midfielder improved terms.

Kenny speculates that this could leave Spurs and West ham battling it out to take Lingard on loan in 2021-22.

He told Football Insider correspondent Adam Williams: "It depends whether United would let him go now after his loan spell.

"I heard they were thinking about offering him a new contract as well. If that is the case then it could be another loan move.

"If I had the choice, I'd choose Tottenham over West Ham. But he did have a really good spell there, he knows the club, the staff, the players so I'd expect him to fancy it there again.

"So it all depends what he's thinking. It's a tough call. He might have got that spark back, fresh and ready to go wherever he is next year."
