West Ham fans on Twitter have been left baffled by David Moyes’ decision to completely axe forward Toni Martinez from the squad to play Leicester on Friday night.
Martinez, 20, is highly-rated by the Hammers faithful and he earned a spot on the bench for Sunday’s game against Watford.
Although he failed to make an appearance at Vicarage Road to earn his senior debut for the East London club, fans were left raging with Moyes’ decision to drop him out of the squad for the London Stadium tie with Leicester.
West Ham announced the news on their official Twitter account ahead of kick-off.

Martinez has been in stunning goalscoring form for the Under-23s side this season in Premier League 2.
In 10 appearances in the competition, the Spain youth international has scored eight goals, including a hat-trick against Manchester United’s development side.
Although that form has caught the eyes of the West Ham fans, it appears that it hasn’t grabbed the attention of the most important man as Moyes continues to keep faith in Andy Carroll up front and Diafra Sakho on the bench.
Fans are clearly not happy with that decision and have taken to Twitter to slam the selection.
