'Hallelujah' – West Ham fans react to reported £20m move for PL striker

By Russell Edge

West Ham fans have taken to social media to react to the news of the club’s reported interest in Manchester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho.

The London Evening Standard claim that the Hammers are pondering a bid for the 20-year-old, who is valued at £20m by Pep Guardiola’s side.

Many fans were left overjoyed with the news, although not everyone on social media was feeling so positive about the potential move.

Here are a selection of the fans’ messages on Twitter:

Iheanacho has endured a difficult time at the Etihad this season, making just five starts in his 19 appearances in the league.

He has managed to find the back of the net four times over in the league this season, but it is a far cry from the 19-year-old who broke onto the scene to score 14 goals in all competitions last season.

He has found himself stuck behind the likes of Sergio Aguero and Gabriel Jesus in the pecking order at City, so it seems the young forward is prepared to depart in search for first-team football.

The Hammers would face a tough task in taking Iheanacho to the London Stadium however, with the Sun claiming the Premier League rivals Everton are also in the hunt for his signature.

In other West Ham transfer news, Slaven Bilic is hopeful of securing this experienced Premier League defender.
