West Ham fans react on Twitter as Champions League winner reportedly heads for medical
By Will Butcher
West Ham fans have taken to Twitter to express their delight after Inter Milan defender reportedly arrived in London to undergo a medical at the club.
This comes as West Ham manager Slaven Bilic admitted that his “priority” is to sign a new left-back following the injury that will sideline Aaron Cresswell for four months.
Sky Italy journalist Gianluca Di Marzio claimed on his website on Tuesday night that West Ham were in talks with Inter about signing Santon on a loan-to-buy deal.
It is said that the Hammers have offered a loan fee of £460,000 for the versatile full-back with an obligation to buy him permanently at the end of the campaign for £5million.

Santon is a pretty good deal considering he'll be a back up once Cresswell is fit. Now let's get the rest of the deals over the line

@themooks Santon eh. Good footballer, wing back probably his best position rather than an outright fullback.

The scenes when we make Davide Santon's move permanent next year and move him to RB and Antonio back to the wing ????????????

I would fell a lot happier if we got Davide Santon and Andre Aywe. Then it would only need a striker to complete the window #COYI

Santon, 25, has wide experience of the Premier League after spending four years at Newcastle from 2011 to 2015.
The former Cesena loanee, who joined Newcastle from Inter Milan back in 2011, has two years remaining on his San Siro deal, but is looking likely to leave the Italian giants as Roberto Mancini looks to continue his Inter revolution.
