West Ham fans react on Twitter as Morrison reportedly makes England return

By Matt Farr

Ravel Morrison is reportedly training with Championship side Wigan – and West Ham fans are happy to see him back in England.

Broadcaster talkSPORT revaled on their Twitter account on Friday that attacking midfielder Morrison has linked up with Wigan boss Warren Joyce, who brought him through the Manchester United youth ranks.

Morrison spent three years at West Ham, but spent most of his spell on loan at other clubs, before joining Lazio in 2015.

However, having made just eight appearances in 18 months at the Italian club, the 23-year-old is now training with Wigan.

The former England U21 international does not appear to have a future in Italy, and if he can impress Joyce, he could earn himself a permanent deal.

After hearing that Morrison could be returning to England permanently, many Hammers fans took to social media to wish their former star a happy return. Some fans even called for the Hammers to re-sign him.

Here are some of their messages on Twitter:

Despite making just 24 appearances for the club, West Ham fans have fond memories of Morrison, reminiscing over a memorable solo goal during a 3-0 win over Tottenham in October 2013.

Displaying such tremendous potential at the start of his career, his progress has stalled greatly since moving to Italy. He now finds himself having to start from square one again, and having made an impact in the Championship before, Wigan could be a good opportunity for him to get his career back on track.

In other West Ham news, the Hammers are close to agreeing a £10.3 million deal for this player.
