West Ham have ‘straightforward’ Scott Parker deal on their radar amid Nuno Espirito Santo sack uncertainty
West Ham United view former Burnley manager Scott Parker as a strong candidate to take over if they decide to sack Nuno Espirito Santo, sources have told Football Insider.
The Irons have a deal for their former midfielder firmly on their radar amid the ongoing uncertainty surrounding Nuno’s future, and feel that a move to land the 45-year-old would be “straightforward” after his exit from Turf Moor.
Sources have indicated that Parker would fit the “criteria” that the East Londoners could look for if they decide to sack Nuno in the coming days, due to his impressive record in the Championship.
Parker has secured promotion from the second tier on three seperate occasions as a boss, as he led Fulham, Bournemouth and Burnley back into the Premier League.
Nuno’s future at West Ham will be settled in the coming days, but it is clear that they want a man in charge who they feel would be capable of securing an immediate return to the top flight.

VISIT THE MANAGER HUBScott Parker’s promotion credentials appeal to West Ham
Nuno’s future has been cast into major doubt in the aftermath of West Ham’s relegation being confirmed last weekend.
The drop into the Championship is set to drastically alter the situation for the London Stadium outfit on almost every level, and it could potentially decide who leads the team into the 2026-27 campaign.
| Manager | Games (Seasons) | W | D | L | Win % | Promotions |
| Nuno Espirito Santo | 46 (1) | 30 | 9 | 7 | 65% | 1 |
| Scott Parker | 138 (3) | 76 | 41 | 21 | 55% | 3 |
The club hierarchy are already considering their options for their next move, while also deciding on Nuno’s future, and Parker has already emerged as a clear candidate to potentially step into the role.
His success in the Championship has already attracted the attention of David Sullivan and Co., given that he has achieved promotion in each of his three seasons in charge in the second tier.
The two most recent promotions came automatically in 2025 and 2022 respectively, while he has also tasted play-off success, when he won at Wembley with Fulham back in 2020.
The remit for West Ham’s boss next term will clearly be to instantly lead them back into the Premier League, and Parker’s proven promotion credentials, plus his links with the club, appear set to stand him in good stead.
Agent of key Hammers star already pushing for exit
Former West Ham scout Mick Brown told Football Insider on Monday that Taty Castellanos’ agent is already trying to engineer an exit for his client, just days after the team’s relegation was confirmed.
The Hammers are expecting to endure a significant turnover in their playing squad in the coming months, and the Argentine could soon become one of the first to jump ship and move elsewhere.
Brown outlined that Castellanos’ agent will already be speaking to clubs in the Premier League and beyond in order to try to “drum up interest” in the striker, even though he only joined back in January.
The former recruitment man expects that the forward will have interest from Premier League clubs ahead of next season, and added that it is almost “inevitable” that he will depart.
With that in mind, whoever takes charge at West Ham for next term will likely have to rebuild a large part of the squad that came down.
