Sources: West Ham plotting to sign duo in January as Husillos intensifies plans

West Ham are planning to sign two new players in the January window, Football Insider understands.

The Premier League club are ready to cast the net wide to strengthen Manuel Pellegrini’s side, with a centre-forward and defender the two main priorities.

A West Ham source has told Football Insider that director of football Mario Husillos will lead the search for reinforcements and is preparing a list of targets.

Husillos is yet to narrow down a shortlist of potential recruits, as he looks to focus on players who might be available in the winter window.

The Londoners are eager to bring in players who can slot into the team in the second half of the season, rather than require lengthy bedding-in periods.

West Ham have had a mixed start to the season that has seen them accumulate 13 points from 10 matches to be placed 10th in the Premier League table.
