West Ham have an interest in QPR playmaker Eberechi Eze but a potential move for him is currently on hold, Football Insider understands.

The Hammers are analysing potential targets ahead of the summer and are compiling different target lists depending on which division they’re in next season.

A West Ham source has told Football Insider the club are monitoring the situation of Eze and plotting a move after his outstanding campaign in the Championship for Rangers.

They will face competition for the 21-year-old from other Premier League clubs, with Crystal Palace also known admirers of him.

Palace made an enquiry for Eze late in the January window after West Ham hijacked their pursuit of Jarrod Bowen and agreed a deal that was eventually completed at the eleventh hour on deadline day.

Roy Hodgson’s side are still keen on the attacking midfielder although, like the Irons, their interest is currently on hold.

The uncertainty caused by the coronavirus pandemic and the suspension of football means many elite clubs putting their transfer plans on hold.

When the transfer window does eventually open for business, Eze will be a player in demand after proving to be one of the most effective players in this season’s Championship.

His 37 Championship matches this season have yielded 12 goals and eights assists.

Eze’s contract at Loftus Road expires in the summer of 2021, making Rangers vulnerable to Premier League offers.

In other West Ham new, it can be REVEALED that the club are willing to let big name go for nothing after talks.
