West Ham are ready to offer Manuel Lanzini a new contract in the summer, according to a report.
The ever-reliable Hammers news site Claret and Hugh claimed that Lanzini, 25, still has a long time left on his current deal at the London Stadium, but the club will offer him new terms in the wake of links to Liverpool.
The Sun reported in January that the Reds were eyeing up Lanzini as a replacement to Philippe Coutinho after he quit Anfield to sign for Barcelona.
It was understood that Lanzini was valued at over £40million by West Ham.
Now it is reported that the Irons will offer the first team playmaker, but it hinges on the one aspect that Premier League safety is assured by David Moyes and his men.
Lanzini has made 21 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring three goals and supplying eight assists in a campaign that has seen him spend a lot of time sidelines though injury.
Football Insider verdict
There’s no better player at West Ham than Lanzini right now. The Argentine makes the squad tick whenever he is playing. The Hammers have won just two of nine Premier League games this season that Lanzini has missed through injury or suspension. If Moyes has to keep hold of anyone in the summer then it is him. However a move to a club like Liverpool to play alongside the likes of Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane could be a very exciting prospect to the 25-year-old. West Ham have had very poor transfer windows in the last year and a half, so fans will be hoping things will improve this summer.
In other West Ham news, fans have besieged the board for their decision on this £65,000-a-week player.
