West Ham to submit huge bid for prolific striker but braced for gatecrashers - report
Real Madrid are set to enter the race and compete with West Ham for FC Krasnodar’s Fyodor Smolov in January, according to a report.
The Daily Mail reports that Real Madrid want to bolster their squad and the striker’s performances have caught their attention.
The newspaper previously reported that West Ham were ready to offer FC Krasnodar £15million for the striker’s service in January ahead of Real Madrid providing them with competition.
Borussia Dortmund and Stoke City were also previously linked to the striker but Smolov reportedly fancies a move to London and that could give the Hammers the edge over other teams.
Smolov has scored 10 goals in 15 appearances for FC Krasnodar this season as well as scoring twice for Russia last month against Spain.

West Ham need to add goals to their team if they want to successfully avoid relegation this season, and Smolov seems ideal. However, while he may fancy a move to London, turning down a team like Real Madrid is no easy task. The Hammers would have to splash the cash to firstly tear the striker away from FC Krasnodar, and then spend big again in order to fight off the Spanish giants. If his form continues before January his price might go up as well, but West Ham fans should be excited at the prospect of this prolific player heading to the London Stadium.
