West Ham will launch bid to sign £15m-rated Celtic fan favourite - report

West Ham will launch a bid for Celtic star Patrick Roberts after the Scottish Cup final this weekend, according to a report.

The Express claims that Leicester are also weighing up an offer for the £15million-rated Manchester City attacker, who is currently on loan at Celtic Park and is set to play his final game for the club against Motherwell on Saturday.

Roberts, 21, has become a real fan favourite in Glasgow having spent the last two-and-a-half seasons on loan north of the border.

Football Insider verdict

Roberts has had a brilliant few years at Celtic Park, but the last 12 months have been really tough for the England Under-20s international, who has struggled to overcome a series of injuries. He has made just 18 appearances in all competitions for the Bhoys this term and scored just one goal which came in the Champions League against Anderlecht. Hoops fans will be gutted to not see him replicate his form of 2016/17 when he absolutely smashed the Scottish Premiership to bits with his sensational displays out wide. West Ham will be lucky to have Roberts on their books for next season because Pep Guardiola may want to hand him a chance to impress at Man City. £15million would be an absolute steal for the ex-Fulham ace though as he is young, English and full of title-winning experience from his two-and-a-half years at Celtic Park. West Ham must do whatever they can to snap him up this summer over Leicester.

In other Celtic news, the Hoops have this 46-year-old lined up to succeed Brendan Rodgers if he quits the club.
