West Ham table £4.8m offer for Europa League speed machine, competition from China - report
By Will Butcher
West Ham have submitted a £4.8million offer for speedy Osmanlispor winger Papa Ndiaye, according to a report.
Turkish outlet Futbol Arena claim the Hammers want to sign the Senegal international, but face competition from China for the winger who has starred in the Europa League this season.
It is believed that the Hammers offer of just under £5million has been outbid by their Chinese rivals though, who have made an offer worth £6.9million for the Super Lig ace.
Ndiaye, 26, is known for his explosive pace that allows him to drift past his opposing full-backs before reaching the byline and supplying a dangerous cross.
The winger has played a pivotal role in Osmanlispor’s sparkling campaign in Turkey’s top flight, which has seen them ignore pre-season expectations to sit in sixth place.

During his 15 league appearances this season, Ndiaye has scored five goals as well as turning provider twice. He has also made six appearances in the Europa League and helped his side progress to the knockout stages.
Currently representing Senegal at the African Cup of Nations with West Ham star Cheikhou Kouyate, Ndiaye has a contract in Turkey until the summer of 2018.
Football Insider verdict:
Ndiaye’s current contract situation could see Osmanlispor allow him to leave in the near future, as they will want to make a profit on the man they bought from Norwegian side FK Bodø/Glimt for just £350,000. That will mean they must look to sell him in this window or in the summer, as he is available to talk to non-Turkish clubs in January 2018 over a pre-contract agreement that will see him move at the end of his deal on a free transfer. That could see the Hammers strike a deal for the winger, who will surely prefer a move to the Premier League over joining the illustrious riches of the Chinese Super League, after the Sun reported on Sunday that Ndiaye is eyeing a move to the England’s top flight.
