West Ham tipped to accept '£60m' Liverpool bid for 'brilliant' Bowen - pundit

West Ham will not accept a bid from Liverpool for Jarrod Bowen below the £60million mark.

That’s according to former Leeds United stopper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the “brilliant” attacker.

The Liverpool Echo reported on Boxing Day that Bowen is a “player of interest” for Liverpool ahead of the January window.

After setting up three goals in the 4-1 win over Watford on Tuesday (28 December) the 25-year-old now has the joint-most assists in the top-flight along with Mohamed Salah.

Kenny insists it will take a “massive fee” to lure Bowen away from the capital and claimed West Ham do not need to sell.

“For Bowen, you are looking at a massive fee,” Kenny told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“These big clubs have to know, these days they have to pay over the odds for these players.

“I think if you look at his form, his ability and how important he is to Liverpool you are looking at £50million.

“Maybe even £60million, West Ham do not need to sell. That’s the key thing here, so it could take that for a bid to be accepted.

“He’s brilliant and he could go on to be an England player as well so there is even more money added on.

“West Ham have to replace him as well and that is no easy feat. West Ham hold all the cards in any case.”

Bowen’s current West Ham contract is set to expire in the summer of 2025 after he penned a long-term deal when he joined in January 2020.

The winger now has 12 goals and 18 assists in 71 Premier League games for the Hammers.
