West Ham tipped to cash in on Rice to fund 'unbelievable' attacker deal - Campbell

West Ham will cash in on Declan Rice this summer and reinvest the money raised in the first team squad.

That is the view of former Arsenal and Everton striker Kevin Campbell, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the 22-year-old’s future.

Eurosport’s Dean Jones told The Football Terrace (July 15th) that Chelsea have opened informal talks with the Hammers over a deal for Rice.

It comes after Sky Italy‘s Angelo Mangiante revealed on July 9th that Irons midfielder and Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland are Chelsea’s top two targets this summer.

Campbell suspects West Ham may sanction the sale of Rice and use the money to sign last season’s loan star Jesse Lingard.

“I think West Ham will cash in, to be quite honest with you,” he told Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs.

“There was occasions last season when he was not in the side and they were still productive and they were still winning football matches.

“If you cash in on Rice you can then throw a lot of money at say a Jesse Lingard, who was unbelievable for them last season. It is all about being smart about how you trade. You have got to move and shake a little bit.

“Rice going to Chelsea? I can see it happening. Man United will also be interested, that’s for sure.

“Rice is a top player and he proved that in the Euros. He was amazing in the final. I think the money could be put to good use if he was sold.”
