West Ham tipped to seal 'unbelievable' Dele Alli signing from Tottenham after Ornstein update

Alan Hutton has suggested West Ham could sign Dele Alli from Tottenham in January if the price is right.

The former Spurs defender, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insisted David Moyes is the sort of manager who can get the best out of the “unbelievable” 25-year-old.

As reported by the Athletic’s David Ornstein on Monday (13 December), Spurs have made Alli available for a move next month, either on loan or permanently.

It is said a temporary exit is more likely due to Spurs’ asking price for the attacking midfielder.

Hutton suggested West Ham could be the perfect destination for Alli to get his career back on track.

Asked where he could see Alli moving to from Spurs, Hutton told Football Insider’s Russell Edge: “For me it’s the Premier League. He’s a Premier League player. He’s an England international and he just needs to get back to that mentality.

“The clubs that he could go to? It’s a difficult one. I think a lot of it’s going to come down to the price tag. How much are Tottenham going to want for him?

“At the right price, you could have people like West Ham, these sorts of teams. Look at how they did with Jesse Lingard. I think that could be a good opportunity for him.

“Dele Alli has had a lot of opportunities. I do feel for him because he’s just lost his way a little bit. There’s an unbelievable player in there.

“It’s probably time he needs to move on, find a club, feel the love, get back to playing and work hard. Then that good player will come back out, I’m sure of it.

“David Moyes has done it throughout his whole career. He’s got so much out of certain players, even going back to his Everton days.

“You look at how much he got out of those players. Dele Alli’s had a tough couple of years, he needs to feel the love a little bit to get back to where he was at. I think Moyes could do that.”

Alli has played just twice since Antonio Conte’s arrival at Tottenham.

He has a total of 265 appearances, 67 goals and 61 assists under his belt for the north Londoners.
