West Ham told to complete 'exciting' Diaz signing after source's update - Kenny
Paddy Kenny claims West Ham should sign Ben Brereton Diaz before the transfer window closes.
The former Leeds United stopper, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, is surprised it has taken West Ham until this point in the window to identify key striker targets.
A Hammers source told Football Insider on Thursday (27 January) the club have narrowed down their striker search to Southampton loanee Armando Broja and Rovers’ Brereton Diaz.
The Londoners are still working on recruiting a centre-forward this month and are hopeful of securing a deal.
Diaz, 22, is out of contract this summer, although Rovers have the option to trigger a one-year extension.
Kenny insists the Hammers should pursue Brereton Diaz instead of Broja.

“They have taken their time with this, everyone knows they need a striker,” Kenny told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“They have been searching high and low for a while now. Brereton Diaz may be that man.
“It would be an exciting signing and for West Ham, it’s not a massive gamble.
“He would cost next to nothing if he’s out of contract in the summer and he’s on fire.
“He can learn from Antonio and provide another option for Moyes. That’s what they have been after for a long time.
“He’s only 22 as well so there is loads of room to grow.”
The Chile international has been in sensational form this season, bagging 20 goals in 27 league appearances.
He scored on Thursday night (27 January) as his country lost 2-1 to Argentina.
