West Ham striker Michail Antonio will not be signing for Saudi Pro League outfit Al Ettifaq for now with the move on hold, sources have told Football Insider.

This development comes after Steven Gerrard's side completed the signing of former Lyon hitman Moussa Dembele on a free transfer.

Aston Villa had been linked with Dembele during Gerrard's time in the hot seat at Aston Villa.

But the interest has cooled for now and the Jamaica international remains a West Ham player with less than one year remaining on his contract.

Antonio's deal is worth a reported £85,000-a-week.

Football Insider revealed on Friday (21 July) that West Ham are in the market for a prolific striker this summer.

Chelsea's Armando Broja and Sevilla star Youssef En-Nesyri are long-term targets for the Irons - who could rekindle their interest in the final month of the window.

Antonio is not the only in-demand forward at the London Stadium, with Football Insider revealing on Sunday (30 July) that Gianluca Scamacca is not expected to play for the club again after agreeing terms with Roma.

The Serie A outfit have lodged a loan-to-buy offer for the Italy international.

Antonio managed 14 goals across 48 games in all competitions last term.

His contribution of six strikes in the Europa Conference League helped West Ham famously lift the trophy.

The former Nottingham Forest man is the Irons' top scorer of all time in the Premier League with 61 goals in 228 games.
