Adama Traore will leave West Ham United having just signed in the winter transfer window.

Nuno Espirito Santo brought in the Spain international to help the Hammers to safety in the Premier League, but the Portuguese manager failed to avoid relegation.

In January, the Irons paid Fulham an initial fee of £1million to get a deal over the line for the 30-year-old winger, who ended up making zero starts for them in the English top flight.

Traore's signing at the London Stadium will arguably go down as one of the most pointless ones, but it begs the question — why does Nuno still have a job in E20?

The Spanish attacker was clearly someone the Portuguese manager pushed to reunite with at the East London outfit

Instead of sticking with the 52-year-old head coach, the Hammers should have handed him his resignation after failing to retain their Premier League status in the 2025-26 campaign.

West Ham prepared for significant departures

Next season, the Hammers will be playing in the Championship and several players in the current squad will feel they're too good for the competition.

Jarrod Bowen is one of the obvious candidates to leave London Stadium in the upcoming transfer window after consistently posting double-digit goal contributions in the Premier League.

Sources told Football Insider in May that Manchester United were interested in Mateus Fernandes, who the East London outfit value at over £80million.

Konstantinos Mavropanos, Crysencio Summerville, El Hadji Malick Diouf and Aaron Wan-Bissaka are some of the other players who will surely be attracting interest away from the Irons in the coming weeks after decent performances in E20.

London Stadium revolution on cards in Championship

Daniel Kretinsky may soon be calling the shots at West Ham, with a massive backroom overhaul on the cards after the allegations around David Sullivan.

The London Stadium faithful have wanted to see the back of the Englishman who recently stepped down as the Hammers' co-chairman.

Kretinsky brought success back to Sparta Praha after taking control of the club in 2004 and fans in E20 will hope he can do the same after buying more shares in the East London outfit.
