Crysencio Summerville has the perfect chance to earn a move away from the London Stadium after West Ham United's relegation to the Championship.

The 24-year-old winger has been called up to the Netherlands national team for the first time, and will be able to use the 2026 World Cup as an audition this summer.

While he has yet to score his debut goal on the international stage, it is just a matter of time before he breaks the deadlock, having notched seven goals and three assists for the Hammers in 2025-26.

In the Netherlands' latest friendly against Uzbekistan on Monday, 8 June, an enthralling 2-1 win, with two goals in added time, Summerville certainly made an impact.

He played the full 90 minutes, picking up a yellow card, while causing absolute chaos down the right flank, as the Dutch were reduced to 10 men for the final few minutes.

The Dutch media have had their say on Summerville's performance, and it is up to West Ham supporters how they take the following reactions.

West Ham star earns comparison to Usain Bolt

The best way to describe his performance would probably be "electric," but Voetbal Primeur (8 June) have taken their praise to a whole new level.

Reviewing the game, the newspaper wrote: "In 2008, Usain Bolt ran his first world record in the 100-meter dash (9.72 seconds) at Icahn Stadium.

"Eighteen years later, the Uzbekistan left-back had the same feeling about Summerville, who showed his explosiveness and depth in decorating the penalty [area]."

While Voetbal Flitsen didn't offer a player rating, they wrote: "Crysencio Summerville, who got his chance from the right side, was immediately threatening in the opening phase.

"Summerville also had a great chance in the second half for his first goal for the Orange. On a pass from Gakpo, he popped up dangerously in front of the goal, but he couldn't get his attempt pressed properly and shot wide," it was added.

What is the latest on Crysencio Summerville's future?

Right now, there has not been any movement around Summerville's future, but the interest in his signature is only mounting with each passing week.

Premier League rivals Aston Villa are hugely interested in the winger's services, joined by Roma, AC Milan and Newcastle United.

Stefan Borson told Football Insider that the Hammers should be able to make upwards of £15million profit on his sale, but supporters would much rather he stay and fight in the Championship.

Keeping Jarrod Bowen appears far more likely, with reports stating that his salary won't be cut, like the rest of his teammates', and his future is far more important to Nuno Espirito Santo and the rest of the squad.
