Crysencio Summerville looks primed and ready for the 2026 World Cup, and the West Ham United winger has a lot to prove.

Despite a slow start to the 2025-26 campaign, he quickly became a fan favourite at the London Stadium after his £25million arrival, notching seven goals and three assists.

Of course, he had signed for the season before, but thanks to an injury-plagued few months for the 24-year-old, supporters rarely got to see him at his best.

That all appears to be behind the tricky winger now, and the West Ham star only continues to attract more attention ahead of the summer transfer window.

Crysencio Summerville ready to star on the international stage

Aston Villa are the latest Premier League club interested in the star’s services now, with half of Europe already keeping tabs on him ahead of 2026-27.

Half of Europe will also know that the Hammers need to raise £100million in player sales after being relegated from the Premier League.

So, all signs point towards Summerville departing the London Stadium this summer, and his displays on the international stage will only add to those concerns.

Despite the Netherlands’ 1-0 defeat to Algeria on Wednesday, 3 June, and the 24-year-old only playing the first half, Summerville made quite the impact.

He created two chances, one of which was a big chance missed by his teammates, made three recoveries, entered into three ground duels, and kept the opposition defence busy.

How have other Hammers stars fared?

Very few of the Hammers’ players have been in action on the international stage, but that is hardly surprising following the 2025-26 season from hell.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka played the closing stages of the Democratic Republic of Congo’s goalless draw against Denmark, while El Hadji Malick Diouf was in action at the weekend.

The 21-year-old played the second half of Senegal’s 3-2 defeat to USA on Sunday, 31 May, and he is another West Ham star likely to leave this summer.

It was probably a game to forget for the full-back, but he’ll have plenty of chances to impress at the 2026 World Cup, which kicks off in a matter of days.

The World Cup will be a huge chance for multiple of Nuno Espirito Santo's biggest names to perform on the biggest stage. Summerville is likely to take it.
