West Ham United could be on the hunt for yet another manager this summer after their relegation to the Championship was confirmed on Sunday.

Despite a 3-0 victory over Leeds United, Tottenham Hotspur’s win against Everton ensured that the Hammers will return to the English second tier for the first time since 2012.

Now, The Guardian on 25 May has reported that Nuno Espirito Santo is expected to depart West Ham after being called in for talks with the board.

With speculation high on who could replace the 52-year-old, Scott Parker has quickly become the odds-on favourite with one bookmaker at 4/5 after his odds were slashed.

Parker had overseen Burnley’s relegation to the Championship this season, but could now return to West Ham to become their new manager.

While Parker may have failed to guide Burnley to Premier League safety this season, the manager is one of the best coaches to have in the Championship.

Since 2020, he has guided three clubs back to the Premier League.

First off, he won the playoffs with Fulham in the 2019-20 campaign. Two years later, he guided Bournemouth back to the top-flight after finishing second.

Then, in the 2024-25 season, he finished second in the Championship yet again, amassing 100 points with Burnley.

Therefore, while Parker may have had a dismal time in the Premier League, he has no doubt proved himself to be a promotion specialist in the Championship, something West Ham undoubtedly needs.

Which players are expected to leave West Ham this summer?

Former Everton chief executive Keith Wyness has exclusively told Football Insider that West Ham could receive £65million for Mateus Fernandes this summer.

There is believed to be plenty of interest in the 21-year-old after their relegation was confirmed.

Reports suggest that West Ham may have to raise up to £150m in player sales ahead of their return to the Championship.

£65m for Fernandes will seriously help boost the Hammers’ finances ahead of what will be a tricky campaign.

However, it remains to be seen if Parker will be overseeing the summer transfer window or if someone else will come through the door over the next few weeks.
