Troy Parrott to West Ham twist as rival's odds slashed

West Ham United could face a late battle to land AZ Alkmaar striker Troy Parrott after Real Betis' odds were slashed.

The Hammers have been heavily linked to the 24-year-old ex-Tottenham forward this month as Nuno Espirito Santo eyes further attacking additions.

Previous reports have indicated that the East London club has already had a bid rejected for the Republic of Ireland international.

Now, West Ham could lose out on Parrott, with one UK bookmaker slashing the odds on Real Betis completing a deal down to 10/11.

The striker was left out of AZ’s squad on Saturday as they beat Utrecht 4-1.

However, it remains to be seen if this is due to the ongoing transfer speculation.

Despite Real Betis now being odds-on to secure the signing of Parrott, they are not the favourites.

West Ham remain the favourites to complete a deal this summer, with the odds currently standing at 8/11.

Following this, RB Leipzig’s chances of securing the striker stand at 9/2.

Everton and Galatasaray are yet to be ruled out of the race and are considered outsiders to complete a deal at 6/1 and 7/1.

However, it remains to be seen where Parrott will end up playing his football throughout the 2026-27 campaign.

Football Insider has exclusively revealed that Aaron Wan-Bissaka has reached an agreement in principle to sign for Aston Villa this summer.

The Birmingham outfit are currently in negotiations with the Hammers to sign the 28-year-old right-back.

West Ham could get between £20million and £25m from the sale as they look to revamp their squad now that they have returned to the Championship.

Everton are also interest in the Democratic Republic of Congo international, but Villa appear to be winning the race.

Wan-Bissaka was relegated with West Ham last season and has been keen to return to the Premier League after impressing in the 2026 World Cup.
