West Ham United should do everything in their power to keep Crysencio Summerville after Premier League relegation.

Nuno Espirito Santo is set to stay at the Hammers for next season and the Portuguese manager's main goal will undoubtedly be winning promotion back to the English top flight.

The Netherlands international, who recently made his national team debut against Algeria, is one of the several key players who may be looking for a way out of the Irons in the summer.

Jarrod Bowen and Mateus Fernandes have already been heavily linked with moves away from London Stadium and Nuno can't lose Summerville as well in the upcoming transfer window.

The 24-year-old winger was one of the East London club's shining lights in the 2025-26 campaign and can certainly immediately spearhead them back into the Premier League.

Bowen and Fernandes are two of the Hammers' most valuable assets, and their sales may be necessary to ease the financial burden in E20.

The Irons' 29-year-old captain has been with them through thick and thin, but he could potentially now be tempted to look for pastures new and join a team in contention to win titles.

Sources told Football Insider at the start of May that Manchester United wanted to sign Fernandes, and now, it wouldn't be surprising to see that come to fruition.

Nuno is facing the prospect of overseeing a massive squad overhaul at London Stadium, which won't be ideal if the Portuguese manager has any hopes of achieving his goals next season.

Crysencio Summerville may be set for emotional homecoming

Summerville spent a couple of years in Leeds United's youth ranks before establishing himself in the first team.

After the Dutch forward's impressive 2023-24 campaign in which the Whites lost the Championship play-offs final to Southampton, West Ham signed him for £25million.

Leeds are now looking to establish themselves in the Premier League, while the Hammers are attempting to return to the English top flight.

Summerville was a fan favourite at Elland Road before moving to London Stadium and supporters will surely embrace him again if he returns to West Yorkshire in the summer.
