West Ham fans will love who Jack Wilshere has compared Amario Cozier-Duberry to, 'He's unplayable'
West Ham United are set to embark on a journey into the Championship, and with that come links to some interesting players.
Of course, Nuno Espirito Santo has every chance of losing the likes of Crysencio Summerville, Mateus Fernandes and Jarrod Bowen.
But the Hammers will still be one of the favourites to win promotion back to the Premier League next season, with Daniel Kretinsky ready to support the club financially.
Several clubs from across Europe have joined the race to sign Bowen this summer, which has opened the door to rumours surrounding Brighton's Amario Cozier-Duberry.
The Irons are long-time admirers of the winger [The Athletic], who became a sensation during his season-long loan at Bolton Wanderers in League One last term.
He notched 10 goals and 10 assists in 41 games, helping Bolton to secure promotion, while also being nominated for EFL League One Player of the Season.
Amario Cozier-Duberry already compared to Arsenal star
Supporters have every right to be excited about his potential signing, especially given the success story behind Bowen's move from Hull City in 2019.
Some may not be overly enthusiastic about signing a player who was starring in League One last season, but it is clear that his ceiling reaches so much higher than that.
Speaking to The Athletic in 2023, former Arsenal star Jack Wilshere couldn't think higher of the player, comparing him to one of England's most creative stars.
He said: "He reminds me of Bukayo Saka, plays in the same position as him, needs to get better with his decision-making like Bukayo did, but he's definitely exciting.
"In some moments he's unplayable. You give him the ball and he can make things happen. You can set up a team and have a game plan, but when you've got individuals like that you've got a chance."
What else should supporters know about Cozier-Duberry?
It's taken a while for Cozier-Duberry to burst into life, but his loan at Bolton has worked wonders for his early career, and potentially his next move.
The 21-year-old still has two years remaining on his contract, and it remains to be seen how much the Seagulls would want to part ways with him.
As a left-footed right winger, Cozier-Duberry could add a new dimension to West Ham's attack. Basically, he's Summerville, but on the opposite flank.
He loves cutting in and unleashing a strike, with his one-on-one ability increasing dramatically in 2025-26. Does this sound familiar?
Maybe Wilshere was onto something in 2023...
