West Ham well placed to make '£15m' Crysencio Summerville profit as transfer edges closer

West Ham United can expect to make a big profit on Crysencio Summerville in just two summers since joining from Leeds United.

That is according to former Manchester City financial adviser Stefan Borson, who exclusively told Football Insider that the Hammers should be able to hold out for £40million this summer.

Summerville was one of Nuno Espirito Santo's most important players during the 2025-26 campaign, notching seven goals and three assists, but it wasn't enough to save the team from relegation.

Now, it is reported that the Hammers need to raise £100million in player sales, and the Dutchman is one of the favourites to depart ahead of the 2026-27 campaign.

West Ham to hold out for £40million for Crysencio Summerville

West Ham signed Summerville for £25million in 2024 after Leeds United were relegated to the Championship, but they can already expect to make a profit.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, Borson said: "It was a good price when they bought him. It's been broadly a good signing. I think people rate the player.

"I think somewhere between £30million and £40million feels like where it will end up. There are a lot of players on the market right now.

"He's 24, 25 in October. So he's a good age. I don't think there's any question, somebody will buy him for £40m. West Ham will make a nice profit.

"That'll get them closer to bringing in the cash they need. I don't think they'll get in the £50m-range just because I think there's just too many other players available.

"Maybe it'll be £40m plus £5m, with this bit of incentive, but that's where I think the fee will end up."

Who else could Nuno Espirito Santo lose this summer?

Summerville is definitely not the only player likely to leave this summer, though there is a growing hope that Jarrod Bowen will remain in East London.

In defence, Konstantinos Mavropanos and El Hadji Malick Diouf are both attracting attention, while Jean-Clair Todibo has reportedly fallen out with the manager.

The big news emerging from the London Stadium is surrounding Mateus Fernandes. Most supporters are resigned to losing the 21-year-old talent.

With West Ham needing to raise funds, Fernandes would go a long way to meeting that figure, and Summerville would only increase that.
