West Ham's best case scenario close amid Crysencio Summerville and Mateus Fernandes developments
West Ham United have reportedly had contact from European champions PSG about the potential signings of Mateus Fernandes and Crysencio Summerville this summer.
Both players are expected to depart the London Stadium in the coming months, with the Hammers hoping to generate a significant profit.
Summerville arrived from Leeds United in 2024 in a deal worth around £25million, while Fernandes was signed in a deal worth in excess of £40m from Southampton last summer.
West Ham are aware that neither player is willing to spend the next year in the Championship, but transfer chiefs will attempt to extract a reasonable fee.
Developments in the case of Summerville will likely have to wait until the Netherlands' participation in the World Cup is over, while Fernandes was not called up by Portugal.
Question marks also exist over the futures of the likes of Jarrod Bowen and El Hadji Malick Diouf, with West Ham to be made very busy in the coming months.
PSG interest the perfect outcome for West Ham
Once the dust settled from West Ham's devastating final-day relegation from the Premier League, transfer chiefs would have started planning.
As soon as the final whistle went, almost every single player in the Hammers' squad became available for transfer this summer.
None more than their most sellable assets, who, while the Irons would prefer to keep, represent the best chance of surviving and bouncing back from the financial disaster of relegation.
Already, West Ham have likely been gauging interest in the likes of Fernandes and Summerville, in the hopes of sparking a bidding war.
That should not be a problem for Fernandes, and after Thursday night's news, it should not be for Summerville, either.
According to Sebastian Denis, Champions League winners PSG have made contact over moves for both players, and were told to pay £122m total.
West Ham to get ideal transfer outcome
West Ham will be well aware that if PSG are interested in both players, then several other clubs are as well.
Arsenal and Manchester United certainly are in Fernandes, but it is unclear whether the pair will attempt to get in a bidding war with the Ligue 1 champions.
PSG represent perhaps the wealthiest club on the planet, capable of paying the largest fees the sport has ever seen.
In recent years, they have been more reserved and intelligent with their moves. If they see players they want in Summerville and Fernandes, however, they will move with ruthless efficiency.
