West Ham United would likely be tempted into a way of selling January signing Pablo this summer, if an offer arrives.

The Hammers reportedly spent around £22million to sign the forward from Gil Vicente, but he failed to have any notable impact on their unsuccessful battle against relegation.

The 22-year-old managed just one assist in 17 appearances, and it was his ultimately his foul which denied West Ham a point against Arsenal.

The Irons' relegation to the Championship has opened the door for numerous exits this summer, but Pablo's move could be elsewhere in the Championship.

In a shock development on Thursday, Wolves have sacked Rob Edwards and are expected to hire Cesar Peixoto as his replacement.

The 46-year-old will be leaving Gil Vicente, where he managed Pablo for almost a year.

Cesar Peixoto is a massive fan of Pablo

Pablo, just 22, could well come good in England and the Championship could well be the league for him.

But if given the chance, West Ham transfer chiefs will likely be happy to cut their losses with the Brazilian.

It would be far from a surprise to see Wolves now make that move, considering Pablo's success under Peixoto.

The two first came together when the manager was appointed in charge of Gil Vicente in March 2025, where the forward had been signed permanently a couple of months earlier.

The 22-year-old scored a hat-trick before the season was out, but it was the start of this campaign that saw him explode.

After just 13 Liga Portugal appearances, Pablo already had 10 goals and an assist for Peixoto's team, who were flying.

When West Ham came in to sign him in February, the Gil Vicente manager could not hide his disappointment.

"Yes, I think we have to see what the market gives us, because we cannot hide it. Pablo was an extremely important player for us,” he told Maisfutebol.

What went wrong for Pablo at West Ham?

The easy answer to explain Pablo's failures at West Ham is to say that the jump from Liga Portugal was just too big.

And there is genuine merit to that. The difference in quality and physicality is very difficult for any player to overcome, especially for a 22-year-old.

It is also fair to question Nuno Espirito Santo usage of him, however. At Gil Vicente, Pablo had always lead the line surrounded by creative outlets.

West Ham should be disgusted by what Pablo is doing already this summer

The 22-year-old's arrival at West Ham came after Taty Castellanos', however, and Nuno opted to start Pablo behind the Italian.

Suddenly, Pablo was tasked with the picking the ball up rather than running onto it, and that was a change that he could not adapt to quickly enough.

There is no guarantee that Wolves make a move for the forward this summer, but West Ham may face a difficult decision if they do.
