Winston Reid: This is how I will stop Tottenham's Kane and Alli
By Russell Edge
West Ham defender Winston Reid has said he is relishing the chance to take on Tottenham and revealed his plans to stop their top stars.
West Ham welcome Tottenham to the London Stadium on Friday night, with the visitors knowing that a victory over their fellow London counterparts would put them within a point of league leaders Chelsea in their hunt for their first Premier League title.
West Ham meanwhile know that three points would mathematically secure their Premier League survival, as well as catapulting them into the top half of the table from 15th to 9th.
One man who has been pivotal in their survival fight is defender Winston Reid, with the New Zealand international having gone on to make 34 appearances this season.
Reid recognises the quality that runs through the Tottenham side and paid credit to two men who he feels are the catalysts in their success.

He told West Ham’s official website: “Dele Alli is a very good player.
“He’s been able to do it in his second season, when sometimes you have young players who are able to do it for one season.
“You can say the same about Harry Kane.”
Kane and Alli have been in fine form for Tottenham this season, scoring 21 and 17 goals respectively in the league.
This has seen the club involved in their second successive title battle, and they will be hoping that they can overcome Chelsea in the final few games of the season.
However, Reid intends to do everything he can to stop the duo from performing at their very best and has revealed his plans to stop the pair, especially the England striker.
Reid will also be aiming to exact revenge, after Kane scored two late goals in the reverse fixture to secure a 3-2 win for Tottenham back in November, with the New Zealand defender seeing red late on.
“With players like that, you need to try to keep them with their back to goal for as much time as possible to make it difficult for them to score.
“He (Kane) doesn’t need a lot of chances to score his goals.
“He generally very rarely misses the target.”
