Whelan thrilled as source reveals Leeds have beaten Everton to 'exciting' new signing
Noel Whelan has heralded Leeds United for showing “rapid pace” to beat Everton to the signing of Amari Miller.
The former Leeds striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insisted it is “exciting times” for the Whites.
Leeds confirmed the capture of Miller on Tuesday (June 28th) after Football Insider revealed a seven-figure fee had been agreed with Birmingham City.
A source has since told this site Everton made the first move for the teenager.
However, the Toffees were “stunned” by how quickly Leeds struck a deal.
The Whites “came in strong” and blew the Merseyside outfit out the water for the 18-year-old, the source said.

Whelan lauded the hard work of the recruitment team to get Miller on board.
Whelan told Football Insider’s Russell Edge: “It doesn’t surprise me anymore. We’ve got a fantastic setup from top to bottom.
“You look at Mr Radrizzani, how he goes about. Look at Victor Orta, look at Angus Kinnear.
“You’ve got everybody working very, very hard in the east stand at Elland Road and at the training ground trying to get these jobs done.
“We’ve got a lot to offer and you can see that now. You can see how it’s developed under Mr Radrizzani, the investment that’s coming from the 49ers.
“We’re not standing still. We’re moving forward and moving forward at a rapid pace.
“You’ve got to say, being at Leeds United right now, there could be some really exciting times for the players, everybody involved and the fans. They’ll be chuffed to bits.”
Miller played five times for Birmingham before signing for Leeds.
He has put pen to paper on a four-year deal at Elland Road.
