Michael Brown admits he is baffled as to why Ryan Sessegnon has joined Hoffenheim and not another Premier League side on loan from Tottenham.
The former Spurs midfielder, speaking exclusively to Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge, suggests that a move to Germany could help take the limelight off the youngster and help him focus on his football.
Tottenham confirmed on Monday that the 20-year-old had joined the Bundesliga side for the rest of the season after a difficult first year in north London.
Ryan Sessegnon has joined Bundesliga side Hoffenheim on loan for the remainder of the 2020/21 season.

Sessegnon managed to make just 12 appearances for Spurs last season following his £25million move from Fulham.
Brown believes that a move out of England could help the young wing-back focus on his football but questions why he has not joined another Premier League side to help him adapt to the English top flight.
Brown told Football Insider: “I said there would be clubs in for him, I knew there would be – I don’t know why that wasn’t a Premier League club, whether that was choice or they wanted to do something away from England, I’m not sure.
“It’s a good opportunity that. I think possibly it is a good idea in that way that he can go and concentrate. There won’t be as much focus – obviously, there will be from the club you’re at and the league you’re playing in.
“To actually stay away here from his parent club, he might be able to concentrate and learn a different style as well.”
Sessegnon has a total of 41 Premier League appearances under his belt so far after his time with Fulham and Spurs.
However, he featured in just one of a possible eight matchday squads this season before his move to Germany.
