Why this available speed machine is the answer to Aston Villa prayers
COMMENT by Amir Mir
Aston Villa should target the available speed machine Jeffery Schlupp during the January transfer window if they want to gain promotion back to the Premier League.
Steve Bruce’s side are crying out for a left sided player and the powerful Schlupp would be the answer to Villa’s prayers.
Reports in the media suggest that the Midlands outfit have shown interest in the Leicester City man who is available to leave the King Power Stadium this month.
Villa require a player who can operate on the left-hand side of attack and provide competition for left-back Jordan Amavi in defence – Schlupp answers those calls in one.
The 24-year-old can operate as a powerful speed merchant and rip opposition defences to shreds or adapt and use his strength to provide defensive cover for his team.

At this moment in time, the likes of Jordan Ayew, Jack Grealish and Jonathan Kodjia are utilised on the left-hand side for Villa – the latter also operates as a forward.
However, during the course of the Championship season Villa have failed to use that part of the pitch as a problem for the opposition.
Premier League winner Schlupp would be someone who would fit in right away as his 66-game experience in the second tier would also come in handy.
Bruce must target the Ghana international whose ability to drive forward with pure power can also complement well with the well-balanced ball carrier Jack Grealish.
In other Aston Villa news, the club are reportedly set to make a bid for this assist king.
