Winner named as West Ham, Everton and Newcastle race to sign Ramsey - pundit
Noel Whelan has tipped West Ham to beat Everton and Newcastle United to the signing of Aaron Ramsey from Juventus in January.
The former Leeds striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed the Hammers need the 30-year-old more than their Premier League rivals.
The Sun reported on Saturday (September 25th) that Juventus are willing to let Ramsey depart for free in January.
West Ham, Everton and Newcastle are all reportedly keen on the Welshman’s signature.
Ramsey has made just 69 appearances since moving to Italy in 2019, scoring six goals.
The newspaper claims he is on a big salary in Turin and that is believed to be the main stumbling block preventing a potential transfer.

West Ham have made a great start to the Premier League campaign to lie seventh in the table, and also compete in the League Cup and Europa League.
As such, Whelan insisted West Ham should add to Ramsey their thin squad in order to cope with the demands of their rigorous schedule.
“I think West Ham probably need him the most,” he told Football Insider‘s Ewan Kingsbury.
“You have to look at where you are right now as a club, and they’re involved in European competition and still in the cup.
“They want to add to the squad and build on where they finished last season because every team is looking for progression with their signings.
“They were excellent last season, and they’ll want to maintain that form with signings like Ramsey.”
A move back to the Premier League for Ramsey would see him return to his old stomping ground in London.
The ex-Arsenal star scored 65 goals in 371 appearances for the Gunners – 40 of which were in the Premier League – and winning three FA Cups in an 11-year spell.
