Wolverhampton Wanderers confirmed that they would be going to the Premier League as champions of the Championship on Saturday at the Macron Stadium, putting Bolton to the sword with a 4-0 win.
It was celebrations all-round after confirming their return last time out against Birmingham City but they marked their top-flight comeback in style with this win.
Goals from Barry Douglas in the 16th minute, Benik Afobe on the stroke of half-time, Diojo Jota and Conor Coady handed the table-toppers another three points as they extended their lead at the pinnacle of the division.
But it was Douglas who was on the receiving end of the plaudits normally reserved for the liked of Ruben Neves.
The Scot has been sublime down the left of the park for the club this season in their pursuit of the Premier League but is not one to usually be on the receiving end of the rapturous support.
However, it was his turn in the limelight, as his display literally had fans of the Molineux club singing his name.
The goal was his fifth on the season on top of the 14 assists he already had to his name.
Here is a selection of reactions of Twitter to the performance of Douglas in the win:
5 goals, 14 assists, part of a defence that’s so far kept 22 clean sheets….. not in team of the season 🤷🏼♂️🤷🏼♂️🤷🏼♂️
