Wolves confirmed the loan signing of attacker Andreas Weimann from Derby on Thursday afternoon – and fans of the club are excited on Twitter.

The 25-year-old forward has played just 12 times for the Rams this campaign and has not featured since the 3-0 defeat against Norwich on 2 January.

The Austria international worked with current Wolves boss Paul Lambert while the pair were at Aston Villa and it was announced by the club’s Twitter page on Thursday that they had reunited until the end of the season.

Wolves fans on social media have welcomed the experienced player and many are now keen to see what he can bring to their side.

Weimann joins Wolves with 113 Premier League appearances to his name, bringing a return of 17 goals and 10 assists.

He also comes with a vast amount of Championship experience, playing in 62 encounters in the English second tier.

Wolves fans will now be hoping he shows the experience on the pitch as they currently sit in a low 16th place.

Weimann has become Wolves’ sixth loan signing and 15th addition in total this season.
