Wolves fans slam Lambert decision to drop Marshall v Brentford

By Harvey Byrne

Wolves manager Paul Lambert made the decision to drop Ben Marshall to the bench in Tuesday evening’s clash against Brentford – and fans on Twitter have slammed the decision.

The 25-year-old played 86 minutes of the Midlands side’s 1-0 win over Rotherham at the weekend, providing the assist to Andreas Weimann’s goal.

However, under fire boss Lambert has decided to leave the January signing on the substitutes bench for the midweek Griffin Park encounter and fans are not happy.

A number of supporters on social media have commented that the former England Under-21 international was their best player at the weekend.

Meanwhile, another has simply labelled it as “baffling”.

Here are a selection of their messages on Twitter:

Marshall was brought in by Lambert in the winter window from Blackburn for a fee of £1.2million.

He has gone on to play in six matches for the Midlands side, bringing a return of one goal and one assist.

Wolves will be keen to pick up all three points on Tuesday as they look to move away from the relegation zone and 20th place.

However, with Marshall out of the team the club may have an upwards task ahead of them.
