Wolves have been installed as the bookmakers' favourites to sign Jordan Rhodes in the final days of the transfer window.

The Middesbrough striker had his odds slashed to 11/4 by betting company Sky Bet on Monday night to make a sensational move to Molineux.

Wolves have jumped ahead of fellow Championship club Norwich in the betting to land Rhodes, with the east Anglian club priced at 6/1 to sign the striker.

Derby are third favourites to bring the 26-year-old to their club at 14/1, ahead of Aston Villa, who are 16/1 to land him in this summer's window.

The change in odds come after speculation mounted on Sunday that Rhodes could drop down from the Premier League to the Championship and join newly-rich Wolves.

Rhodes completed a dramatic deadline day switch from Blackburn to Boro for £9million in January, and despite a slow start on Teesside, the Scotland international ended last season with five goals in eight matches.

The prolific forward was an unused substitute in last week's Premier League curtain-raiser with Stoke and was not named in the Boro squad to face Sunderland in Sunday's Wear-Tees derby, which they won 2-1.

Rhodes has an outstanding scoring record in the lower leagues, with 91 goals from 189 Championship appearances and 70 in 122 League One matches.
