Wolves are in pole position to sign Hartlepool teenager Harrison Webster, according to a report.
TeamTalk claims that the in-demand defender, 15, is also wanted by West Ham and Leicester, but the Championship leaders are leading the chase having already welcomed the left-back to Molineux on a trial.
It is understood that Wolves have been keeping very close tabs on Webster and are eyeing a permanent swoop in the summer transfer window.
Webster is said to be on the verge of being called up to the Hartlepool first-team despite his tender age.
The North-East club currently sit 16th in the National League standings and face relegation-threatened Solihull Moors in their next fixture at the weekend.
Football Insider verdict
It seems that Wolves should be able to beat West Ham and Leicester to signing Webster quite easily having already had him on trial in the West Midlands. The Wanderers have also developed a fair amount of young players from their academy in the past few years having drifted between the Championship and League One, so that may also sway Webster’s decision to go to Molineux over the London Stadium or King Power. However with the big money that Wolves are now spending, there’s every chance that there will not be as many youngsters making the grade at Molineux in the future.
In other Wolves news, these title holders have confirmed that they want to sign this Molineux attacker.
