Exclusive: Bruce 'wouldn't be surprised' to see Wolves player join Spurs after Mourinho swoops

Alex Bruce has suggested that Tottenham could replace star striker Harry Kane with Wolves hitman Raul Jimenez.

The former Premier League defender, speaking exclusively to Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge, has been left raving over the Mexican hitman after his two years in England.

Foot Mercato report that Mourinho has been in contact with Jimenez’s family over taking the striker to north London, telling them the 28-year-old would play a major role were he to join Spurs.

As revealed exclusively by Football Insider, Tottenham have no intention of letting star striker Kane leave this summer but there is a possibility of a ‘gentleman’s agreement’ that could see him depart in 2021.

Bruce believes that if Spurs are to lose their talisman up front they could find an ideal replacement in Wolves’ Mexican hitman.

Bruce told Football Insider: “Well if they lost Harry Kane I don’t think he’d be a bad one. I think he’d be up there on the wanted list because I think he’s been excellent for Wolves.

“He has got everything, he’s an excellent player and it wouldn’t surprise me if there was a chance of him being available that Tottenham wouldn’t be the only ones interested in him because he’s been a very good player.”

Jimenez has been in excellent form at Molineux this season, scoring 22 goals and contributing 10 assists in 44 appearances across all competitions.

Having initially joined Wolves on loan from Benfica, he became their record signing when they turned his temporary stay permanent.

In other Tottenham news, Paul Robinson has told Football Insider club will be making moves to tie 26-year-old down to new deal.
