Wolves are plotting a move to sign Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale before 31 August, sources have told Football Insider.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider's Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O'Rourke revealed that Ramsdale is looking to move on and is no longer happy to play second-fiddle to David Raya at the Emirates.

Wolves' interest has emerged amid speculation surrounding the future of Jose Sa, who has been linked with a move away from Molineux.

Sources say they could explore a possible swap deal involving Daniel Bentley, who Arsenal were interested in signing earlier this summer.

However, Mikel Arteta is in no rush to see Ramsdale leave as he wants to keep two top goalkeepers on the books and would demand a "huge" fee for his sale.

Wolves could push to sign Aaron Ramsdale from Arsenal

Sa joined Wolves from Olympiacos in 2021 and has since established himself as one of the league's most impressive shot-stoppers, featuring 116 times for the club.

Last season, he made 40 appearances across all competitions, keeping six clean sheets and helping his side reach the FA Cup quarter-final.

Reports have now claimed the Midlands club are now willing to entertain offers for their goalkeeper, which would allow them to focus on Ramsdale's arrival.

The Arsenal goalkeeper has been pushed down the pecking order by the arrival of Raya, whom Arteta rates as his first-choice keeper.

As a result, he featured just 11 times last season, and only six came in the Premier League.

Ramsdale is now assessing his options, and while he is not expected to push for a move away from Arsenal, he is thought to be keen to discuss an exit.

Nottingham Forest have also been linked with a move for the Gunners' goalkeeper, with fans insisting his exit would see Matt Turner leave the club.
