Medical expert: 'My understanding is' Nelson Semedo is out twice as long as Wolves are letting on
Nelson Semedo could be out of action for up to eight weeks with a hamstring injury – twice as long as Wolves are letting on.
That is the view of injury expert Ben Dinnery, who runs the Premier Injuries site and has a background in medicine and data analysis.
Semedo, 28, has missed Wolves’ last two matches and is unavailable for tonight’s (10 March) clash against Watford.
As quoted by Sky Sports last Friday (4 March), Wolves boss Bruno Lage suggested the Portuguese right-back will be out for a “month”.
But Dinnery fears that Semedo’s thigh injury could keep him out of action for longer than Lage is forecasting.
“My understanding is that it will probably be slightly longer,” he told Football Insider‘s Adam Williams.

“It is extremely optimistic to expect a return to play within that month. I would expect that it’s more likely to be mid to late April, in all honesty.
“I presume that Bruno Lage was maybe hoping for a return after the international break. It might well have been a case of wishful thinking.
“But my understanding is that it will more likely be around the six to eight-week mark, so it’s a signficant setback.”
Semedo has made 26 appearances in 2021-22, with those appearances yielding one goal and one assist.
Lage accused fellow right-back Ki-Jana Hoever of failing to prepare after he too broke down with injury against Crystal Palace last Saturday (5 March).
